The Persian Cultures
In English class this week, I have read the "Rubaiyat" and "Manners of Kings," these short stories are didactic literature and I learned many principles and ethics of the Persian life. In the Rubaiyat I learned that the Persians adore life and they believe in a great meaning of life, "The Wine of Life keeps oozing drop by drop, the Leaves of Life keep falling one by one." -"The Rubaiyat VIII". The Persians are monotheistic, they believe in Allah. In the "Manner of Kings" I learned that the Persians believe in treating people the way you want to be treated, from 35 in the "Manner of Kings." In 7 from the "Manner of Kings" it explains that the Persians believe in being thankful for what they have.

The Floods
One day in English class, I read the story The Epic to Gilgamesh. In the Epic of Gilgamesh there was a story; The Story of the Flood. The Story of the Flood was very similar to the story of the flood in the Bible. There has to be a reason for how the stories are so similar. The reason why believe the stories are similar is the fact that there was actually was a flood, and the writer of The Epic of Gilgamesh changed the story to have more people interested in the flood.
